Enhancing Receptivity to Pregnancy

The following is an internal Qigong exercise that is designed to support the natural energy flow of implantation according to Chinese medical principles. Practiced daily, it will definitely help you to feel relaxed and enhance your confidence in your body’s ability to complete this process.

Purpose: To open the connection between the Heart and Uterus. This connection is called the “Bao Mai” in Traditional Chinese Medicine, and is the pathway for “Heavenly Qi” to travel from the Heart Center into the Uterus in preparation for the potential creation of new life. This exercise energetically primes Uterine receptivity to the embryo(s).

 1. FEEL the energy. It is more important to feel it than visualize it. If you can’t feel it, I want you to pretend you can!

 2. Keep the breath “circular”, relaxed, and deep. Do not force it, just let the lower abdomen gently rise and fall with each breath, and allow the inhale and the exhale to blend into each other.

3. Do each exercise for about 50 breaths if you have time. If not, do as many as time allows but don’t rush. Take your time!

 4. Count backwards. If you are going to do 50 breaths, count from 50 down to 1. You count the number on an exhale, like this: INHALE, EXHALE “50”, INHALE, EXHALE “49”. Count to yourself, not out loud.

 5. There is no right or wrong way to do these, so relax and enjoy. The only “wrong” thing you can do is feel more tension or hold your breath or breath too forcefully.

Method:

1. As you are inhaling, imagine a white beam of light entering through the center of the top of your head.

2. As you continue inhaling, feel it moving down the center of the inside of your body, touching into your heart center, which expands, opens, and relaxes. Imagine the heart glowing white as the light moves across.

 3. As you exhale, feel the light move down from the heart into the uterus and ovaries. Feel this energy, which is infused with unconditional Divine Love, infuse into your Uterus, as you silently affirm to yourself that you are ready to receive the blessing of a child if it is meant to be.

 4. After 50 or so breaths, sit quietly and enjoy the peaceful, relaxed feeling of the Qi.
